I strongly recommend each person who comes for counseling to begin by taking the Arno Profile Temperament Analysis.
The 54 questionnaire measures the Counselee’s needs, natural traits, strengths, and weaknesses according to temperament. The computerized APS report provides the Christian Counselor with in-depth information and the best way to counsel the individual according to needs.
What will I learn from the evaluation?

The whole concept of Temperament Analysis rests on discovering who we truly are rather than on who we have become. Most of us have a mask on (our personality) according to who we have learned to be, who we feel we are expected to be, and/or who we are forced to be from our family of origin and/or our peers. We can all acknowledge that very often our behavior and our language is a facade or a way of protection.
As we grow and live, most of us experience feelings of hurt, disappointment, fear, rejection, loneliness, grief, guilt, and/or shame. These feelings may cause us to project an image that is not necessarily true to who we really are. We think we need to protect ourselves using outbursts of anger, verbal abuse, manipulation, control or withdrawal. Usually we don’t like ourselves much at these times, causing internal and external conflict.
Who God created us to be (temperament) and who we have become (through learned behavior) can be entirely different. We need to find out who we really are, and find ways to become the person God wants us to be (the true self) instead of the person we have learned to be (the masked self).

Addiction is brain disease that is usually the result of a long series of bad choices, just like many other diseases. These bad choices are what the Bible calls sin. When the brain becomes diseased, it creates false survival cravings for things that are harmful to us which is a form of insanity? So if you want to be free of addiction you have to heal (change) the brain from producing these self-destructive cravings.
The place in the brain that is damaged is mostly what the Bible calls the Heart. The Genesis Process is a practical program designed to bring about heart changes that last.

The Genesis Process Program is an outpatient Counseling program that blends sound biblical principles, an understanding of the neurochemistry of the brain, into an effective road map to help facilitate positive change. It’s a twenty-week Process that focuses on healing the wounds from family and relational issues that drive self-destructive or unhealthy behavior. The program offers proven principles and tools for obtaining lasting personal and spiritual change.
Group Genesis Classes are 1 1/2 -2 hours long, for 20 weeks. You must buy workbook. Classes are limited. Locations vary.
The Individual Genesis Process Plan for One on One Counseling is $330.00 (includes workbook) and lasts for 10 weeks
Counseling sessions (Genesis Process not included) are 50 minutes. And the cost is $60.00 per session.
