Do You Have It?

Every generation must answer the question.
When it’s near, the atmosphere changes.
When it’s missing, something feels hollow.
Ministries rise and fall on it.
Leaders are revealed by it.
Churches are remembered because of it.
The question isn’t whether you’ve seen it before-
The question is: Do you have it?
There is something God places on a life, on a ministry, on a house of worship—something no human effort can create on its own.
Jeremiah 20:9
“But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not.”
It does not announce itself, yet it makes itself known.
It comes when invited; cries of hunger bid it come.
When it moves, nothing stays the same.
You may not have language for it, but your spirit will recognize it.
Heaven knows who carries it. Hell fears it.
And every generation is tested by its question: do you have it?
Some ministries have it, some don't.
Fair to say most want it.
The good news is that when a church has it, everyone knows it.
If the church doesn't have it, everyone knows that, too.
Pastors, teachers, leaders;
They have it, or they don’t.
It is always unique; it is always life-changing.
Many people try to explain it. Few truly have the words.
Hard to explain, but impossible to miss.
If you listen intently, you’ll hear it.
If you wait for it, it will present itself.
If you've ever served in ministry and lost it, you knew it.
If you've never encountered it up close, ask those who have -they know it.
2 Timothy 1:6
“Stir up the gift of God which is in you.”
If your church has it, everyone is talking about it.
It is like electricity in the air. And everyone becomes aware of it.
Neighbors will know it.
Co-workers too
It will be visible in the church.
From the pulpit to the door.
Some people may simply be born with it.
Others will truly seek it out.
Without a doubt, it is always and only -a gift from God.
He makes it available to everyone who wants it.
All leaders should have it.
And you should never lead without it.
People will flock to churches that have it.
People will obsess about it.
You cannot have enough of it.
Some reading this have it. Some reading this want it.
Some reading this -are getting it.
Beautiful buildings aren’t necessary to have it. Cool lights and trendy technology aren’t essential to sustain it.
You can’t give it away yourself,
But when you see others get it,
You’ll be so glad they did!
It changes you.
It challenges you.
It makes you love.
It makes you care.
It makes you give.
It makes you pray.
It calls you out.
To dig in and go deeper.
Trust it.
Never underestimate it.
I want it.
And I want everyone to have it.
John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth
Pray for it.
Seek it.
When you get it, hold it tightly.
If you had it once, you can get it again.
Wake it up. Crave it.
It's in you.
Let God bless it, break it, and multiply it.
Never take it for granted.
Passionate, Godly. Sincere. Authentic. Transparent.
Hunger for Christ. -makes IT different.
Prayer.
Meditation.
Preparedness.
Passion.
Power.
Anointing.
Results.
Desire burning
Fire holy
Hunger deep
Psalm 42:1–2
“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God.”
Relentless pursuit
Heart on fire
Tranquil Zeal
Intense focus,
Fervent love,
Purpose driven
Heart awakened.
Soul stirred.
Do you have it?
It is not about preference. Or style.
It is not about personality or platform.
It is the presence of God resting on a people with open hearts.
You can build without it—but it won’t last.
You can lead without it—but it won’t bear fruit.
You can grow without it—but it won’t be God.
If you have it, guard it.
If you’ve lost it, seek it.
If you’ve never known it, ask for it.
But whatever you do— don’t settle for ministry without it.
Romans 12:11
“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”
